The Quran addresses the concept of gender not only as a biological difference, but also as a complex social and spiritual construct. It emphasises the equal spiritual dignity of men and women before God, while recognising differences in function in some aspects of social and family life. The understanding of gender in the Quran has been the subject of diverse interpretations throughout Islamic history, with contemporary interpretations tending to emphasise the principles of equality and justice, while still appreciating the distinctiveness of each sex within the framework of Islamic ethics and spirituality. The study in this research uses the literature study method. The results found that; Firstly, the Quran fundamentally affirms the equality of men and women in terms of spiritual and human values. Although some traditional interpretations tend to limit the role of women, contextual and linguistic analyses of Quranic verses show that the holy book supports women's active participation in various aspects of life, including social, economic and political. Secondly, the Quran grants women a variety of progressive rights for the time, including the right to education, employment, property ownership, and marital justice. However, the implementation of these rights is often hindered by interpretations influenced by patriarchal culture and specific socio-historical contexts.
2024-08-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Achmad Zahruddin https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/149 PERAN BIMBINGAN PERKAWINAN OLEH BADAN PENASIHATAN PEMBINAAN DAN PELESTARIAN PERKAWINAN (BP4) TERHADAP CALON PENGANTIN DI KANTOR URUSAN AGAMA PONTIANAK TIMUR 2024-09-04T08:28:33+00:00 Munawar Rahim heri.triyana2022@gmail.com Heri Triyana aslanalbanjary066@gmail.com Ubabuddin Ubabuddin aslanalbanjary066@gmail.com
Allah SWT created His creatures in pairs, male and female. There are many lessons that can be taken from marriage, one of which is that it can give birth to peace and happiness full of love. However, marriages do not always go as expected, with marriage guidance the prospective bride and groom receive direction and guidance before getting married, it is hoped that the prospective bride and groom can create a family that is sakinah mawadah and warahmah, and can reduce the divorce rate. The method used in this research is (field research), namely research in which data is obtained through interviews with several informants who have been selected and determined by the author. And this research is qualitative, namely research that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. Considering the importance of methods in research. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that, the provision of marriage guidance by BP4 KUA East Pontianak District to prospective brides and grooms is carried out on Thursdays on weekdays from 07.30 to 11.30 then carried out using the lecture method, Q&A for 2-3 hours. However, this plays an important role because of the guidance given to prospective brides and grooms to be able to create a sakinah mawadah and warahmah family, and reduce the divorce rate. The obstacles faced in carrying out marriage guidance include time constraints, discipline of the prospective bride and groom, collaboration with other agencies, staff shortages, unequal education of the prospective bride and groom, and other obstacles. Islam entered through various channels, mainly trade, marriage and da'wah by Muslim traders, ulama and Sufis. Ports and coastal cities became the starting point for the spread of Islam, which then spread to inland areas. The process of Islamisation in Indonesia was also characterised by intensive adaptation and acculturation with local culture, resulting in a distinctive form of Islam in the archipelago. This is something that is not only believed to be true, it is even practiced in human life throughout the world. After a person dies, all his practices are interrupted, except for 3 things. These three things include: almsgiving, useful knowledge, and prayers for pious children. Almsgiving includes all good deeds given to other people that have benefits for many people. This goodness can be material and non-material. Alms in the form of materials, for example building hospitals, schools, mosques and so on. Non-material alms can be in the form of ideas, energy and time given for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah. Useful knowledge, meaning someone who teaches other people, with this knowledge other people can do good, can get closer to God and can be put into practice in everyday life. Next, pray for a pious child. A pious child will be an obstacle for his parents from going to hell. The prayers that devout children continue to offer to their parents will slowly erase their parents' sins. Therefore, every parent competes to educate their children to become pious children. . A Muslim is obliged to work hard in this world with the intention of accumulating provisions for the afterlife. Islam emphasises that balance must be struck in all aspects of life, including between spirit and matter, mind and heart, and rights and duties. This principle is also emphasised in the Quran, particularly in QS. Al-Qashash verse 77, which reminds people not to forget their part of the world, but also to use it for the good of the hereafter. Islam does not advocate abandoning the world completely, but rather utilising it wisely as a means to gain happiness in the hereafter. Gender studies can explore the role of women in religious moderation and the challenges they face to achieve a goal, thus women have enormous potential and opportunities in maintaining the diversity that exists in Indonesia, namely other socio-cultural cultures, but this potential has not been used properly and maximum. In Surah Luqman verses 13-14, Allah SWT provides guidance on character education, which Luqman taught his son. Verse 13 emphasizes the oneness of Allah (tawhid) and a warning to avoid shirk, which is the main basis of morality in Islam. This message is important for forming a child's understanding of God as the main foundation of moral values. Meanwhile, verse 14 emphasizes the obligation to serve parents as part of noble morals. Through this obligation, children are expected to grow up with an attitude of respect and gratitude, especially for the sacrifices of mothers who care for them from the womb to breastfeeding. Several studies have explored the method of character education taken from this verse. For example, Zubaedy (2018) in the journal Didaktika states that character education that begins with strengthening tawhid and obedience to parents is an important pillar for instilling morals in the younger generation. Interpretations from scholars also support this approach, highlighting that strengthening faith and affection in the family is the foundation for forming a society with strong character. Character education from the perspective of the Qur'an, especially in Surah Luqman verses 13-14, includes two main pillars: tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and respect for parents. Maulana explains that character education based on tawhid forms the basis of ethics and morality for children, because tawhid instills the awareness that all human actions must be based on submission to Allah. This strengthens moral integrity and personal responsibility which are important in character education. Maulana (2020) in his article in the Jurnal Akhlak Mulia. In addition, respect and obedience to parents taught in verse 14 serve as the foundation for social morals. Maulana highlights that the value of devotion to parents reflects the concept of gratitude and appreciation for sacrifice, which is not only important in family life but also relevant to creating a generation that values the values of togetherness and empathy. Maulana also notes that the implementation of this teaching can build children's character based on compassion, respect, and social responsibility.
2024-10-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Faza Ilya, Awal Nur Ramadhan , Ana Rahmawati https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/285 KONSEP PERENCANAAN PERSPEKTIF AL-QURAN DALAM TAFSIR AL-AZHAR DARI BUYA HAMKA 2024-10-30T07:36:09+00:00 Siti Trizuwani sititrizuwani24@nhs.uinjkt.ac.id Hamidullah Mahmud hamidullah.mahmud@uinjkt.ac.id
The importance of planning is the existence of planning / planning possibilities that will occur for an activity and work in the future The relevance of the concept of planning in the modern era faces various significant challenges and opportunities. Tafsir generally focuses on the literal and contextual explanation of Qur'anic verses, while ta’wil delves into deeper, esoteric meanings, particularly in ambiguous (mutashabihat) verses. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, this research analyzes classical and contemporary exegesis to identify how scholars across different eras combine these approaches. The findings reveal that the correlation between tafsir and ta’wil enriches the overall understanding of the Qur'an. Classical scholars tend to separate tafsir and ta’wil methodologically, whereas contemporary scholars often integrate both approaches to address modern challenges, such as social change and interpretative pluralism. This study emphasizes the importance of synergy between tafsir and ta’wil in developing a more comprehensive and relevant method of Qur'anic interpretation in the contemporary era.
2024-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Yoga Agus Yulianto, Hamidullah Mahmud https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/293 HILANGNYA LITERASI SEJAK USIA DINI 2024-10-31T14:23:47+00:00 Indah Tunjung Sari kebabobaa@gmail.com Naela Qatrin Nada naelaqatrinnada@gmail.com Khoirun Nida Amala anarahmawati@unisnu.ac.id Ana Rahmawati knidamala@gmail.com
In an increasingly interconnected world, many people, especially children, find it easy to access news and information without critically examining its content. This trend can lead to laziness in reading and understanding, potentially hindering the development of good readers and critical thinkers. The Qur'an, a foundational text in Islamic teaching, emphasizes the importance of reading in the specific section known as Surah Al-Alaq. This research explores the Qur'anic perspective on reading and learning through the interpretative lens of M. Quraish Shihab, a prominent Islamic scholar. The study reveals that literacy extends beyond the mere ability to read and write; it encompasses the capacity to comprehend and critically analyze written content. The research highlights the crucial role of parents in cultivating strong reading habits in children from an early age, enabling them to develop wisdom and intellectual depth. By examining the Qur'anic teachings on reading, this study demonstrates that learning to read critically is fundamental to nurturing an informed and discerning generation. The findings underscore the significance of intentional, thoughtful engagement with text as a means of personal and intellectual growth, drawing inspiration from the Qur'an's first revelation that emphasizes knowledge acquisition.
2024-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Indah Tunjung Sari, Naela Qatrin Nada, Khoirun Nida Amala, Ana Rahmawati https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/294 GLOBALISATION AND THE EROSION OF TRADITION: MODELLING THE IMPACT OF GLOBAL CULTURE ON LOCAL CUSTOMS 2024-11-01T04:12:19+00:00 Loso Judijanto losojudijantobumn@gmail.com Aslan Aslan aslanalbanjary066@gmail.com
This study analyses the impact of globalisation on local customs, highlighting how the process of globalisation can lead to the erosion of traditions as well as affect long-entrenched cultural values. Technology and mass media act as key agents in accelerating people's exposure to foreign cultures, often displacing traditional practices. However, globalisation also brings opportunities for revitalisation and innovation in local traditions, allowing for hybrid cultures that enrich people's lives. To manage such impacts, a holistic approach is needed that involves co-operation between the government, cultural institutions and communities in preserving and adapting local cultural values with modern technology and innovation. This approach is expected to achieve a balance between harnessing the benefits of globalisation and maintaining traditional cultural identity.
2024-11-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Loso Judijanto, Aslan Aslan https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/295 PERUBAHAN POLA KOMUNIKASI MASYARAKAT DI ERA DIGITAL: ANALISIS PERSPEKTIF AL-QURAN TENTANG MEDIA SOSIAL DAN ETIKA KOMUNIKASI 2024-11-02T02:10:23+00:00 Loso Judijanto losojudijantobumn@gmail.com Rafika Nisa rafika@stitarraudhah.ac.id Al-Amin al.amin-2024@feb.unair.ac.id
This article analyses the changing communication patterns of society in the digital era through the perspective of the Quran, focusing on the use of social media and communication ethics. This classification is essential as it serves as a guide for interpreters to understand the social, cultural, and historical contexts of revelation. The Makiyah verses were generally revealed before the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) migrated to Medina, during a time when Islam faced significant challenges and opposition from the polytheists of Mecca. These verses tend to be brief, concise, and poetic, aiming to capture attention and touch hearts. The primary themes presented include monotheism, faith, and the stories of previous prophets. In contrast, the Madaniah verses were revealed after the migration, when Islam had gained wider acceptance and the need for social, economic, and legal regulations emerged among the Muslims in Medina. These verses are typically longer and provide detailed explanations regarding Islamic laws, interpersonal relationships, and social order. These characteristics reflect the development and maturity of the Muslim community, which required more structured guidance. By identifying these distinctions, this study provides deeper insight into the background of Makiyah and Madaniah verses, helping Qur'anic interpreters apply the contextual background of revelations more accurately in contemporary interpretations. This research employs a literature study method, gathering and analyzing various relevant classical and contemporary interpretative sources.
2024-11-17T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Titin Hardianti, Nasrullah Bin Sapa, Halimah Basri https://mushafjournal.com/index.php/mj/article/view/301 JAM AL-QUR’AN WA KITABATUHU: SEBUAH TINJAUAN SINGKAT PELUANG DAN TANTANGAN REFLEKSI MANA-JEMEN INFORMASI DAN ETIKA KEILMUAN DI ERA TEKNOLOGI 2024-11-14T06:36:44+00:00 Ramlah Ramlah ramlahmallah65@gmail.com Nasrullah Bin Sapa nasrullah.sapa@uin-alauddin.ac.id Halimah Basri halimah.basri@uin-alauddin.ac.id
This article examines the collection and compilation of the Qur'an in the form of mushaf over the years, from the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to the time of Khulafaurrasyidin, especially during the time of the caliph Abu Bakar and the caliph Utsman Bin Affan. This process is called jam' al-Quran, or the process of codifying the Qur'an. Of course, this process has a very important role so that the authenticity of the Qur'an has been maintained for centuries since it was revealed until now. The mushaf of the Qur'an that we have now turned out to have gone through a long and winding journey over a period of more than 1400 years ago and has an interesting historical background to know. Historically, the journey of Qur'an bookkeeping is indeed not as complex as hadith bookkeeping. However, this does not mean that the process of codification of the Qur'an is not interesting to study. In its journey, the Qur'an in the sense of its capacity as a book or a bound sheet of paper and written in it which is considered by Muslims to be the revelation of Allah—the process of codification is no longer normative, but very historical, because it is related to various kinds of discourses/discourses (social, political, and others) that surround it, so that it is always worthy of questioning and discussion anytime, anywhere, and even by anyone. We already know that the Qur'an was revealed gradually. The Prophet received the Qur'an through the angel Gabriel and then he recited and dictated it to the companions who listened to it. The collection of the Qur'an during the time of the Prophet was grouped into two categories, namely: collection in the chest in the form of memorization and appreciation and collection in records in the form of book writing.
2024-11-18T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Devy Wulandari, Nasrullah Bin Sapa
