WAHDATUL WUJUD: PENGERTIAN, TUJUAN, DAN TOKOH-TOKOH PENGEMBANGNYA DALAM PEMIKIRAN TASAWUF
Keywords:
Wahdat al-Wujud, Sufism, Ibn Arabi, Hamzah FansuriAbstract
By prioritizing the thoughts of Ibn Arabi and Hamzah Fansuri, this research investigates the concept of Wahdat al-Wujud in Islamic Sufism. This doctrine states that the universe is an expression of God. This gave rise to debate among Muslims about the boundaries between mysticism and sharia. To analyze academic sources, this study uses a qualitative approach based on literature study. The results of the research show that the concept of Wahdat al-Wujud Ibn Arabi, especially tajalli, has had a significant influence on Sufism, including in the archipelago because of Hamzah Fansuri's thoughts. However, Nuruddin ar-Raniri strongly opposed this teaching, considering it deviant from Islam. This resulted in Hamzah Fansuri being murdered during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Thani. The ideas of Wahdat al-Wujud are still relevant in Islamic studies, and provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between God and His creatures. This is true even when faced with challenges.
